Excess Lysine can increase LDL Cholesterol and cause kidney problems.  Because of this, no one should supplement over 1,500 mg per day.

Cottage cheese, seafood, meats, poultry, peanuts, sesame seeds, lentils.

Supplements Of Lysine:

Except in the case of illness, the recommended 50-80 mg of Lysine is easily obtained from a balanced diet that includes meat, fish, and poultry.  Vegetarians should supplement their diets with up to 50-80 mg per day of L-Lysine.
