Coping With A Chronic Illness: In a lot of ways, it's easier to deal with a life threatening, acute disease than a chronic illness which, barring miracles, isn't getting any better. These illnesses can go from a mild case of hypertension, through asthma, diabetes, some cancers, all the way through cerebral palsy, blindness, deafness, emphysema, stroke, Parkinson's and rheumatoid arthritis, etc. The pain, confusion and energy drain can stop you in your tracks, whether you're the patient or a close loved one. This would have been helpful five years ago when my father was battling lung cancer, but I'll definitely keep it in mind for friends and family...it's such a horrible thing to deal with and anything to make it easier would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for the tip smile.gif

I would love to hear form people who have had to leave a job to care for an ill partner, parent, child, etc and how you are making a living while caring for a chronically ill loved one.
